Frequently asked
Where is my data stored?
Everything you log — sessions, jumps, poles, notes, planned meets and settings — stays only on your iPhone or iPad. Polsstok has no account system and no server; there is nothing to sync and nothing we can see on our end.
I deleted the app by mistake. Can I get my jumps back?
Because all data lives only on the device, uninstalling Polsstok removes its data too. If you still have an iCloud or iTunes device backup made before you deleted the app, restoring that backup will bring the data back. There is no separate Polsstok account to recover data from.
Why does Polsstok ask for the camera?
Only to let you photograph the landing mark in the sand right after a jump, so your log has a picture of it. Polsstok never uses the camera for anything else, and the photo stays on your device.
Why does Polsstok ask for photo library access?
It doesn't ask for general library access. Adding a photo to one of your poles opens Apple's own picker, which hands the app only the one photo you pick.
How do training reminders and meet reminders work?
Both are local notifications scheduled on your device once you turn on a training reminder or save a planned meet. Nothing is sent to a server to make this work, and you can turn reminders off at any time in Settings or in the system Notifications settings.
Does Polsstok show results from other jumpers or clubs?
No. Polsstok has no online results, no federation data and no rankings of anyone else. The only distances in the app are the ones you type in yourself.
My pole's average distance looks wrong.
Averages, bests and water rates are calculated only from the jumps you've logged for that pole. Check the jump list on the pole's detail screen — an outcome logged as "abandoned" or a jump logged for the wrong pole will change these numbers. You can edit or delete any jump from its detail screen.
